Barbara Conroy


Barbara is an adjunct for SUNY Cortland supervising student teachers and teaching seminar classes to college seniors who are pursuing a career in education. She is a retired teacher from the Sachem Central School District where she was a reading specialist and classroom teacher for thirty years. While at Sachem, she was instrumental in starting the annual fundraiser, Ladies Night Out, an event attended by 500+ women that raised over $100,000 for the CMB Fund.

Barbara has been a member of the executive boards of Working Women of Manhasset and the Association for the Help of Retarded Children. She has been the chairperson for the annual luncheons and evening events. Barbara also worked on the annual Cure for Sure fundraising dinner for the Thomas Hartman Parkinson’s Foundation for five years.

Barbara has been married to Steve for 38 years. They have three children and three grandchildren. Her children attended Sacred Heart Academy and Chaminade High School and Barbara and Steve were on the executive boards of the parents clubs, helping with holiday parties, golf outings, luncheons and formal black tie events.

For the past nine years Barbara has been the co-volunteer coordinator for the CMB fund. She has volunteered at numerous events, coordinating volunteer schedules, organizing silent and live auctions and writing the subsequent acknowledgements.
